You probably already know that there has been only one case of the coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed in Northern Ireland until now. This was a woman who had been on a trip to northern Italy who realised something was wrong, self-isolated immediately,  was diagnosed quickly and is now receiving medical treatment.

There may of course be more cases in the next weeks, but the health authorities in Northern Ireland are doing everything they can to monitor the situation and make sure that the virus doesn’t spread. The risk to people in Northern Ireland remains low. The School is monitoring the situation closely and our priority is to ensure that our students and staff are as safe as possible and that we can continue to operate as usual. We are following the advice published by the NHS, the Foreign and Commonwealth office and the Government which up to now is carry on as normal.  In the meantime, IH Belfast is open and welcoming students. We want to reassure everyone that the well-being of our staff and students is always going to be our top priority and that we are already providing them with information and advice concerning the virus (see links below).

So you can reassure your clients that there is no need for them to postpone their trip to Belfast. The city is operating as normal. It’s sunny and warm here today and spring is on its way!
