Helping students find their way at Riverstone - Riverstone students are accepting of everyone.
Dear Moksina Elena Aleksandrovna, Ozerin Eduard Vasilievich, Ozerin Ogor Vasilievich,
Here is some information to pass along to your clients about how they may find their way at Riverstone. :-)
By now, you’ve done lots of research on boarding schools. You’ve scoured websites, YouTube, and talked to friends. You’ve narrowed down your list to a few promising schools. (We hope that Riverstone is one of them!) However, we’re guessing that you still have a few questions:
At Riverstone, we understand what it feels like when everything is new: new city, new classes, new teachers, new roommates, and new activities (like backpacking!).
Rest assured, we will help you get off to a solid start and then support you as life-challenges inevitably come along.
Our dorm parents are there for you, 24-7. They’ll give you a tour of your new home, introduce you to your roommate, and then help you get settled. Need help choosing the right clothing for a backpacking trip? Some advice if you’re feeling a little homesick? Or TLC when you're not feeling well? Don’t worry, our dorm parents will help you every step of the way.
Our classes are small and teachers will want to know you--and what you think. Your perspective and life’s experiences matter at Riverstone. There’s no hiding in the back of the class. Small group projects will help you make friends quickly. And teachers are always there when you need some extra help--or just want to talk about your favorite music group or what you did over the weekend..
Our advisory program helps you find a home at Riverstone. You will be welcomed into one of our advisory groups, with 12-15 students from grades 6-12. Each advisory is named after a river in Idaho, and is led by two teachers. Each time advisory meets, you’ll do something different. You might play a game, venture into town on a service project, or prepare for student-led conferences. You will stay with this group throughout your time at Riverstone, giving you the chance to form long term relationships.
Our outdoor trips are unforgettable opportunities to unplug your devices and connect to new friends. There’s nothing like figuring out how to set up a tent or tasting your first dinner prepared over a camp stove to prompt get-to-know-you stories. With small groups of 10-12 students and two teachers as leaders, you’ll soon learn that time spent watching the sunset with a small group of new friends make the best memories.
Our school counselor, college counselor, and administrative team will be your cheerleaders and advocates. Don’t be shy if you need something. They know just what to do to help.
Finally, Riverstone students are accepting of everyone. They want you to be you, to make the most of your time together. Join a club, an academic team, a music group, or athletic team and see how fun it is to have a shared goal.
Click on the videos below and hear from our students, first-hand, about their time at Riverstone.
I hope that you can see yourself at Riverstone. Come visit! If you aren’t to visit in person, we can talk on the phone, virtually or by email. I am happy to answer all of your questions!
If you aren’t to visit in person, that’s okay. We can talk on the phone, virtually or by email. I am happy to answer all of your questions!
And don’t forget to start your application soon because Adventure Awaits!
Sincerely,
Rachel Pusch
