The Irish government has issued the following directive and statement announcing the closure of schools and universities, including English language schools..
“Our own National Public Health Emergency Team met last night and has issued new advice to Government. We are acting on that advice today. […] So, from 6pm today, the following measures are being put in place. They will stay in place until March 29th. Schools, colleges, and childcare facilities will close from tomorrow. The “unprecedented measures to protect public health”, include the closure of language schools
This came into effect from 18.00 March 12 to the proposed re-opening date of Monday March 30th . CEC will remain closed as per the directive of the government
The health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, host families and partners continues to be of the utmost importance to us in this situation and we are following all the guidelines and advice given by the Irish Departments of Health and Education, the National Public Health Emergency Team and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
CEC are finalising online classes at the moment and students will have access to CEC Online platform throughout the disruption. We will be in contact with all students through the CEC Online platform with more details.

CEC will be flexible around our terms and conditions including our cancellation policy during this challenging time. We will keep you updated on any changes.
Students currently studying in CEC
· Students can put their course on hold and take the tuition at another time.
Students due to travel to CEC
· Course can be postponed to a later date.
· No cancellation fee if students wishes to cancel their travel.
Cancellation of accommodation
· Homestay accommodation – can be cancelled prior to arrival and fees will be refunded.
· Residential accommodation– 7 days notice is required. We will need to charge one week (7 nights).
· Students cancelling their course and accommodation will receive a full refund up to 1st May 2020.
