Claremont School is attending the British Boarding Schools' Workshop next week for the first time. They started boarding in September 2015 after acquiring a house in the nearby town of Battle and converted it into a modern, bright boarding house. The senior school is located in Bodiam, East Sussex, south east England with easy access to Gatwick (75 mins) and Heathrow (100 mins) airports.
Claremont has 50 boarders, 40 of which are international from 14 different countries. The school offers 1 and 2 year GCSE programmes, pre-A level, A levels and short term stays for those looking for one, two or three terms. Claremont is co-educational with boarders from age 11 to 18. Fees are £9,000 per term.
The school has been investing in recent years and has a modern 6th form centre, sports hall, 240 seater theatre and 6-lane indoor swimming pool. The school has a year-round, professionally-run Football Academy.

New Boarding House for St Mary's, Cambridge
St Mary’s School in Cambridge has bought an building which will be refurbished to provide a new home for all of its 90 boarders. The building was formerly a nursing home and is located near to the Cambridge University Botanic Garden. Charlotte Avery, Headmistress of the girls’ school with boarders aged 11 to 18, said: “The acquisition is the next phase in our long-standing commitment to invest in top-class facilities for all our students, building on our purchase of a beautiful new home on Chaucer Road in 2012, which allowed a previously split site Junior School to be reunited. Thereafter, we created a bespoke home on Brookside for our Sixth Form Centre, as well as an Art & Photography Centre on Bateman Street and a new Science Hub. Enhancing our boarding accommodation is an appropriate next step in our balanced approach to wise planning to secure a very confident future for our school and for future generations of young women.” Work has started on the refurbishment of the building and the first boarders will be welcomed into their new home in September 2016.
