CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 NOTICE

Dear EVO Ozerin Eduard ,

With the further spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 we'd like to inform you of measures that are taken by Atlas Language School.

We are following advice from government bodies, including the HSEDepartment of Education and the National Public Health Emergency Team in Ireland and the Ministry for Health in Malta.

The Coronavirus has been deemed a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organisation. Therefore, we trust our partners understand that we need to employ precautionary measures at this time to ensure the safety of our students and staff and to help to stop the spread of the virus.

With this in mind, we have had to take the decision not to accept students from Category 1 regions and/or those who have been in close contact with persons from Category 1 regions for courses starting in March and April. As of Thursday 27th February, Category 1 includes:

  • Wuhan city and Hubei Province (China)
  • Iran
  • Daegu or Cheongdo (Republic of Korea)
  • Any Italian town under containment measures (currently Lombardy and Veneto regions)

This will not affect students from any other regions within those countries or countries who currently which have Category 2 status, including:

  • Hong Kong
  • Italy (excluding northern containment measures)
  • Japan
  • Malaysia
  • Republic of Korea (excluding Daegu and Cheongdo regions)
  • Taiwan
  • Vietnam

Please check whether your students come from or have been to any Category 1 regions in the 14 days prior to their scheduled arrival at Atlas and inform us if they have. We also ask to check whether any of your students  have been in close contact with anyone from Category 1 regions and to inform us.

If the above applies, we are offering the affected students a free cancellation or postponement of their course. Students from Category 2 areas who wish to postpone/cancel their course will also be offered the same terms. We would encourage all Category 1 and 2 students to postpone their courses rather than cancelling them.

For all mini-stay groups travelling from Italy we are looking at these on a case by case basis.

We are reviewing our policies as the situation evolves. We reserve the right to temporarily suspend courses and change accommodation arrangements if required.

We'd like to assure you that we are also taking precautionary measures on site, including the following:

  • Following information given by the HSEDepartment of Education and the National Public Health Emergency Team in Ireland and the Ministry for Health in Malta, Atlas advises students and staff to stay at home, contact the school and seek medical advice if they are feeling unwell and are experiencing the following symptoms:
    -  Fever (high temperatures)
    -  Coughs
    -  Shortness of breath and/or breathing difficulties
  • We have put in place measures to try and minimise the spread of all illnesses and diseases, including providing hand sanitisers and guidance on the prevention of spreading germs (posters)
  • We recommend students not to travel to any Category 1 or 2 areas. We are advising students that if they do travel while studying at Atlas, we will need to act in accordance with government advice and may be unable to accept them back at school.

The most important action we can take to protect ourselves from COVID-19 is regular hand-washing and good respiratory hygiene. Cover our mouths and noses with a tissue or your sleeve when we cough and sneeze and put used tissues into a bin and wash our hands.

We'd like to thank all our partners and students for their support and cooperation.

Best wishes,

The Atlas team
